Obi-Wan walked down the halls of the Jedi Temple. He was a young 15 year old boy with short sandy brown hair, that was cut in the normal Jedi Padawan fashion with a Padawan braid. He was still growing his Padawan braid in. It was not quite as long as it should have been, but it was getting there. He was wearing the normal Jedi tunic and cloak, which was what all the other Apprentices, Knights, and Masters wore. He was worried as he walked down the hallway to the spaceport of the Temple. He was worried about Qui-Gon Jinn, his Jedi Master and good friend. Qui-Gon had left him behind a week ago to go on a solo mission for the Temple. He was suppose to return today. But Obi-Wan was worried that he was not coming back. He had a bad feeling about the mission from the beginning and had hoped that Qui-Gon would not have gone on it. At least not without him. But he did leave, and without him. Obi-Wan sighed in thought. Obi-Wan made his way to the spaceport. He pressed a small green button to open the doors. They opened with a hiss, he then stepped through them and stood on the plateform. It hurt his eyes when he first stepped outside, but they adjusted quickly. He looked up and saw several small and big ships flying above and around the Jedi Temple. He wondered if the ship Qui-Gon was in was coming soon? But he didn't know. He now only had to wait. Wait for Qui-Gon to return. The only thing he wanted to know was 'when' he was coming back. And so he waited and waited and waited. But still no Qui-Gon. He sighed, it was beginning to get late now. He watched as the traffic of the ships deceased to a mininum of five ships. Obi-Wan looked closely at them, he decided that from the looks of them that they were ships from the Senators of the Republic. After a little while into the night Obi-Wan finally returned to his quarters. By now Obi-Wan was very worried for Qui-Gon. He should have been back by now, thought Obi-Wan. And walked down the same hallways he had walked down several times before. He made his way to his quarters in deep thought, he did not even notice the other Jedi Padawans as they walked by him. Some of the younger ones nodding to him in respect, since he was an older Padawan. As soon as he entered his quarters he went to his bed and sat down. He sighed and closed his eyes. And thought. Obi-Wan felt useless. There was nothing he could possible do to help or find out what happened to Qui-Gon. He had no clue whether he was just late, or if he was lost, or even worse...hurt. Obi-Wan closed his eyes tightly and forced himself to clear all of those thoughts from his mind. He needed to have a clear mind, he needed to think about this situation clearly. Worrying thoughts could cloud his thoughts and his judgement. He layed down on his small bed, opened his eyes, and looked at the wall. He sighed again and thought of all the things that could have happened to Qui-Gon. But then he forced the thoughts from his mind again. There was a time and place for that. And now was not the time. He called out in his link for Qui-Gon, the link he and Qui-Gon had as Master and Padawan. But he felt nothing. This is strange, thought Obi-Wan. "Thats usually, normally I can always be able to connect Qui-Gon on our link. At least we are able to feel a little bit of each other presence. Argh, this is confusing, I should probably tell the Masters about this in the morning, they may know more about what is going on with Master Qui-Gon than me." He was starting to get frustrated now. All he wanted to know was if Qui-Gon was okay, but he had no clue to that answer. The frustration was beginning to turn into angry. He was angry because Qui-Gon didn't take him with him. If he had done that then Obi-Wan would not have been worrying about him, because he would be next to him, at his side, where he belonged. Obi-Wan rolled over on his side and closed his eyes again. After a few minutes he began to drift into a deep, dreamless sleep. |
